A typed URL, a profile website link and an eligible product link are different features. Do not assume that pasting a URL into a TikTok comment will make a clickable link for every viewer.
Choose the right destination
Start with what you want the reader to do: open a product, read a longer explanation or find your website. A comment is useful for context, but it should not be the only place where a visitor can understand your destination. Keep your call to action accurate, short and connected to the actual video.
Profile and commerce link options depend on the account and the features available in the app. Check the current settings rather than promising a link placement based on someone else’s screenshot. A visible URL in a comment is not proof that other viewers can tap it.
Check the result as a viewer
Prepare the destination page before sharing it. Make sure it loads securely, works on mobile and tells people where they have arrived. Then test the actual placement in TikTok with an appropriate viewer account. If the link is only text, rewrite the call to action so a reader does not expect a button.
- Check your profile’s currently available website-link controls.
- For products, use the official eligible commerce workflow.
- Describe the destination in ordinary words.
- Test the published placement and keep it up to date.
Write a comment that stands on its own
A helpful comment should remain useful even when its link is not clickable. Explain what the reader will find and why it is relevant. Avoid placing the same promotional URL in unrelated conversations.
The Commenta formatter can help draft a short call to action. It cannot add website permissions, turn plain text into HTML or create TikTok product links. Blue search links are also separate from external links.
Common questions
Can you put links in TikTok comments?
You can attempt to type a URL where text is accepted, but do not assume it becomes a clickable external link. Test the placement in your account and app.
Can Commenta create a clickable TikTok link?
No. Commenta edits text and searches imported data. Link behavior is controlled by TikTok.
