Look for watch history within your TikTok account’s activity controls. Watch history is about videos you watched; post view history is a different feature about eligible views of your posts.
Find the right kind of history
Start from your own profile and open the account menu. In versions that expose an Activity center, look there for watch history or recently watched content. Menu labels and availability can vary, so use the current in-app help if the route differs.
Do not confuse this list with profile views, post view history, search history or comments you previously left. Each describes a different activity, and changing one setting should not be assumed to change all of them.
- Open your profile in the official TikTok app.
- Check Settings and privacy for activity or history controls.
- Open the relevant watch-history list if it is available.
- Find the video and save a permitted reference for your research.
If you cannot find the video
Try a distinctive phrase, creator name or subject through TikTok search. Check whether you liked or saved the post. A video may also have become unavailable; no history tool can promise recovery of removed or private content.
For a research project, keep a separate note of the post URL, creator and observation date while the content is accessible. That makes it easier to connect a comment export with its source later, without collecting unrelated private activity.
Connect history with a useful comment workflow
Once you locate the post, decide what you need from its conversation. If you have a permitted dataset, search the imported comments for a product name or a recurring question and export only what is relevant.
Commenta cannot retrieve your TikTok watch history and does not ask for your TikTok password. This guide concerns TikTok’s own activity features.
Common questions
Is TikTok recently viewed the same as post view history?
No. Your watch history concerns what you watched; post view history concerns eligible viewers of your posts under TikTok’s current rules.
Can Commenta recover deleted TikTok history?
No. It cannot access or restore private TikTok activity, deleted videos or cleared history.
